Oscar congratulations...

No comment on the Oscar broadcast itself - the older I get, the more impatient I get with the tedious, bloated telecast and the self-congratulatory, let's-all-pat-ourselves-on-the-back-for-how-important-and-meaningful-we-are-to-the-world nature of the awards but I did want to recognize two talented, hilarious television actors from two of my favorite shows ever who you may have missed among all the self-aggrandizing of the A-listers but who took home two of last night's awards - Bret McKenzie, one half of the folk comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, who won for Best Original Song, and Jim Rash, better known as Dean Pelton from Community, who was one of the winners for best adapted screenplay. I didn't even realize it was him when I started cracking up when one of the winners started posing like Angelina Jolie, showing off her bare leg in her slit dress - I should've known it was the Dean.

Congrats to them both!!
